Maybe this was just a craze in Australia but circa 1990 the trend was to wear baggy jeans rolled up to mid calf and then really long thick sock gathered around the ankles with a brogue type shoe. Hideous! But as a tween/teenager you had to wear it to fit in. Sister Wolf you’re so right! We need to be unique in our interpretation of “fashion”.

PS. I do wear one pair of baggy, ripped jeans rolled up once because they’re too long for my 5′7 legs (ok, 5′6). I’ve been doing it for years, even when it wasn’t cool. Don’t slap me!

I love how some of the tabloids jumped on the fact that Katie Holmes wearing “Tom Cruise’s jeans rolled up” as if!!!!!

Girlfriend most definitely would not be rolling them up if they belonged to that midget.

I don’t have the body for trends. I wear what looks good on me and what I like, trends be damned! I have always liked flares that are tight on the ass and thighs. Goes with my hourglass shape…

I *hate* the expression “boyfriend jeans.” Aside from the fact that it’s so Seventeen Magazine, it implies that one must be a teensy little waif whose boyfriend is a burly dude’s dude. If my scrawny boyfriend even owned jeans and I tried to wear them, I’d look more like Anna Piaggi than Katie Holmes! (which technically, is a good thing, but that’s beside the point).
