Starving vs Force-feeding
Alexa Chung is rocking some fierce and super-coveted Acne wedges, but nobody seems to notice that she’s starving. Why won’t Alexa eat?
The question is rhetorical. I know why. Been there, refused to eat that. Alexa probably looks in the mirror and sees nothing but fat.
On the other hand, in Mauritania, girls are still force-fed in order to procure a husband in a culture that regards obesity as socially desirable. This tradition, called leblouh, is literally torture.
This is some fucked up shit, isn’t it? Two cultures, two ways to subjugate women.

I can vouch for Alexa Chung’s teeny wee frame having seen her in real life. I was walking down the street behind her after a fashion show and I honestly couldn’t work out how she managed to hold herself up. My arms are thicker than her legs. So, so thin. She’s a stunning girl without doubt but if only she’d eat a pie, some chips, anything.

Holy shit! I thought Alexa Chung was just the usual model-type thin, but that picture suggests straight-up anorexia. Nobody looks like that naturally– disproportionate head is giveaway.

That skinny girl is very pretty and far too thin. I don’t think she can lift those shoes off the ground; they look very heavy. I think she is still standing there, looking pathetic and wringing her hands in despair. Somebody find her and feed her a banana.

If we can’t be kept prisoners in the home we’ll be kept prisoners to our own bodies. This pisses me off and makes me sad. I’m going to go eat that entire pan of brownies I just made in protest to this subjugation.

You know in my recent blog post I kept thinking to myself that my knees and legs looked gargantuan in comparison to hers. It was really bothering me for a second. And then I thought “oh fuck it, I ate five krispy kremes in one sitting last week. Of course I’m going to be bigger than her”.

I watched her show with my daughter and I couldn’t take my eyes off of her legs. She had a short dress on then, too. She wouldn’t look nearly as bad in pants but those bony knees are scary as hell.
