Sold Out, Dammit
Can you believe this Pucci leather one-shouldered eagle dress is already SOLD OUT at net-a-porter ($4,900)?! No sooner did it appear, when POOF, sold out. Shit.
I need to think that the person/persons who bought it are the same one/one who bought this Judith Leiber parrot, also SOLD OUT, duh, at $5,695.
“In this economy”, it’s still so important to show your support of wildlife.

I love both of those items but even if I had Oprah’s money I couldn’t justify spending that much money on them. Five grand for a dress? Its lunacy. Pass me a Sharpie and a tshirt, dammit.

$5,695 is more than enough to feed a african tribe for.. I dont know, maybe a year? Nice parrot.

I firmly believe that net a porter just marks that shit temporarily as “sold out” to garner hype.

I agree with JJ, always have thought that about Net a porter.
My little dude would love that parrot, it’s very piratical. He’s always hassling me to give him the sequinned parrot (it’s actually a weird christmas decoration) I have on my dressing table.

But you can still get the Balmain buckle embellished boots that she is wearing with the Pucci dress for $1605 if you hurry. Only one size is sold out. Thank god!

Sorr, but all I can think of to say is, “That’s Pucci????” Shame on you, Peter Dundas! Bring back Matthew Willliamson!

I’m with Style Spy: That’s Pucci??? No. Just no.

It’s easy to sell out of things when you only have a couple in inventory!

WendyB that was my question too. How many were made at all, 3 maybe, if not even only one.
Lobotomy included.

Yes, you have rightly pointed out that this is “faux green” fashion. It’s an acknowledgment that there is wildlife in the world without any of the inconvenient behavior needed to be even the slightest bit green “In this economy” do you really want to “reduce your carbon footprint”? Not in those boots.

green.

Deena – I’d pay $5,000 not to wear that dress!
minzhi – Yes, but real ones are more fun.
jj – Really?!?
Skye – “piratical” is a great word. Does he know about International Talk Like a Pirate Day??
andrea – Hideous boots! Shoes the Sea of Money girl have them?
Style Spy – YES! What an insult to the Pucci name.
HelOnWHeels – Big mistake they’ve made.
Wendy – You think they just get a size 2 and 4 or something??
dust – I knew there was a lobotomy involved!
WCGB – Same goes for all those horrible tshirts with big zebras on them.

It was probably the same people that bought the $5,000 iphone app that didn’t do anything…
Where would one put that parrot anyway?

Truly this whole current fashion thing makes me want to wear a string vest and then tell everyone it was from Net-a-Porter
August 21st, 2009 at 6:44 pm
Those boots are fucking hot.

I, for one, just dont understand…… $5,000 for a t-shirt….?
August 22nd, 2009 at 11:36 am
thats just plain old crazies that buy that shit……im in a wicked mood today sorry.
they are the same bastards then that preach about saving the fucking environment, drive a prius, buy recycled paper, then hop in a private plane to vacay in some poor third world tropical paradise and stay in a 5* hotel (dont worry they throw the fruit from their hotel room fruit bowl out to the starving kiddies). Urgh
