I actually liked the Rodartes when they were on the runway, but up-close it’s a high-fashion punchline from that 90s Dinosaurs show.

I can see why that top shoe is called Pageant – I can see Patsy Ramsey putting them on Jon Benet, had she lived long enough. And by “she,” I mean both of them.
That Rodarte shoe is ridiculous. Materials gleaned from a landfill in the name of couture.

The designers must have been thinking “what fools these women are- they’ll pay good money for ANYTHING, as long as it is the next anything”. The designers must really hate women to make such fools out of them. The Kirkwood for Rodarte will probably be seen on that Daphne Guinness;, the British fashion whore. And notice that you didn’t even need any text for this post. The pictures say it all!

To the Kirkwood Rodarte shoes; Why do you make shoes I want but know damn well I won’t be able to walk down the street without hearing a mad Max reference.
To the other shoes that I don’t care about: Shame, go set yourself aflame. You did a bad job.

Shoot me, but I actually liked the Rodarte pair on the runway, and I think Nicholas Kirkwood’s shoes are usually gorgeous. It’s just that they’d look a bit ridiculous on a non-model foot, I think.

The Rodartes DO look like an orc! I think they have some redeeming value in that they could be used as a weapon in times of distress.

I’d rather go barefoot through snow and sleet than put on “pageant” shoe; the Rodarte has some redeeming quality as a weird sculpture, but makes a ridiculous shoe.

The heel on the Rodarte shoe fascinates me, but the rest of the shoe I can leave. They always have really bizarre heels… I remember ones from last season that were made to look like melted candle wax. The pageant shoe looks like one of those fringed western t-shirts that you see from the thrift store was glued to a sandal-boot and a heel was slapped on. It’s awful.

I thought the Rodarte shoes were amazing when I first saw them. I still think they’re pretty cool but they’ve lost their shock appeal for me.
Plus I tried them on and they were like 10 lbs each. No bueno.

I like the Rodarte shoes in a photoshoot setting. For the supermarket, not so much. And with that price tag, if you can’t wear them all the time they’re not really worth it.
The other shoes just look like the only thing the stripper would be left wearing at a cheap lap dance club.
