Douche or Dreamboat?
I can’t tell you how many times I have seen this picture and thought, “Who the fuck is this guy and why is he everywhere?” I have just now inadvertently discovered his identity: Francois Verkerk, a model.
I was pretty sure that he was a vintage guy but now I know he’s contemporary, I don’t know what to think. I think I hate him. What an ass.
On the other hand…. I do like a dandy when he has the goods to pull it off. But no, no. I want to kill him.

I can see Marys point of view that it is a fashion spread, however when I look at this picture I can’t help but see all the douche bags at my Uni (art school) that try to pull this off and fail in full douchebag glory.

I’m such an old fart that to me, this look is in the same category as fingernails grown out ten inches long. I guess it’s okay for a fashion spread – just hate the Trotsky top/Himmler sides hairdo. Still, I vote douche.

This is really tough. I too love a dandy. If he was vintage I would looooove him. But knowing he is modern, my mind jumps to arrogant hipster douchebag. The kind of sniveling ass that the sartorialist photographs with his damn socks showing. But, as you say, i love a man who makes the effort and likes to dress. tough one. But I am certainly on the side of douche.

He reminds me of BEL AMI the main character from GUY DE MAUPASSANT, a french writer. He looks so French. I like to see different looks. I wouldn’t judge him, I think tehre are women who lik emen like that and others who hate them. If he treats women with care,then that’s a good point, if heis an asshole, I would hate him for that.

Well, I think it’s kind of a cool look. He’s certainly given his “look” a lot of thought.
The mustache? I dunno……makes me think of a Victorian Gentlemen with good manners and social etiquette. I think people long for a time when people were simpler, and more couth. (By the way, is it just me, or does the look actually seem gay? )
Anyways-I’m not sure why the other women’s comments are so scathing. Is being a hipster so terrible? Don’t jerks and A-holes come in all shapes, sizes, sexes, colors, looks and classes?
