This chino skirt would look great with ______________________.

I made fun of a hideous pants-skirt combination from McQ, but now I see that the pants-skirt is pretty damn good. As long as it’s Comme des Garcons. This ruffly one is saved by the leather buckles. I’d tap that.  But this other one with the more traditional kilt (straight front, pleated back) now that makes my heart race*.

Grown-ups, go straight to Colette online before the 9 year old bloggers get to them!

* Just kidding. Is there another phrase I can use? What about “that makes me hard?” Suggestions!

This is the Pepper Skirt by Leyendecker, $297.  It managed to stump the Shopbop copywriter, who can usually rise to the occasion. She may be having some sort of mental breakdown, and who can blame her with shit like this “skirt”?

I’m going to have a go at it:  Rock this tragic skirt with a Hawaiian lei and leave your skinnies at home!

When this skirt suit by Thom Browne sold out at Gilt Group (reduced to $1,288) fashion blogs got all excited.

What’s the surprise all about? The men I know LOVE Thom Browne.

Let’s see, men famous for wearing skirts:  David Bowie, Mick Jagger, David Beckham.  Okay, then! I’d like to see more guys wearing skirts.  They are welcome to my skirts too, since I’m not going to wear them any time soon.

A man wearing a skirt says to me: “I’m confident, I’m rebellious, come and get it!”

There are far worse things for men to wear,  starting with baseball hats or Metallica T-shirts. What other fashion advice do you have for men, anyone out there?

I’m embarrassed that I didn’t know anything about The Rake’s Progress until I read an article about the fascinating Robert Lepage. I googled around to learn more about the opera, composed by Stravinsky in 1947.

It’s a three act opera featuring several elements that I count among my many obsessions.

A man is tempted by The Devil to leave his country-bred sweetheart to seek fortune in the big city. There, he is seduced into marrying a Bearded Lady and invests all his money in an invention that proves to be a sham. He wins a final bet with the Devil, who then curses him with Insanity. The hero dies in Bedlam.

What more could one ask for in an opera? I need to get Lepage’s production of it, recorded in Brussels.

Yesterday, when I wasn’t busy with penises, I found this leather skirt that I can’t afford, but still covet. The pleated ruffles just kill me! What wouldn’t look great with this skirt?

Time marches on but some things never change. Bondage skirts are always cool, and here are two that I really want and would never wear. But let me emphasize, I really want them.
